Apparently 5 is the magic age when bad hair days start to arise. My daughter is trying to let her hair grow out and we’re having a time with combing it. We have the Buddies shampoo has a detangling solution but is not enough. We tried the spray but that wasn’t enough. The only thing left short of a haircut was Johnson’s Buddies No More Tangles Easy-Comb Conditioner.
This is a large tall tube and has 7.5 fluid ounces. It is orange in color and has a purple combo on the front. This tube looks like it would be suitable for a boy or a girl. I noticed that all of their Buddies products are different colors so even if a child couldn’t read they would still be able to identify it by the color or different bottle shape. It stands on its lid so the conditioner should always be prepared to come out.
This is marketed for younger children who are leaning toward independence in the bathroom. I wonder if the tube is really suitable for a younger child to use because it would be so easy to squirt too much out with no way to get it back into the tube. My daughter is 5 and is careful to squeeze just a little out at a time. I would have preferred a pump container.
This really reminds me of sun tan lotion from the way it smells to the way it comes out of a similar tube. The conditioner is white and similar to consistency to adult conditioner.
We have been collecting the buddies so that we can make bath time a little more fun. My daughter likes to tell me what to use next. I like the scent of the conditioner. It says light, fresh scent. There are 7 products in the Buddies line and we are starting to use them together. I was thinking that if we got things in the same line the smells should blend together nicely. I love the smell of their hair now but the fragrance is very mild so the smell doesn’t last for very long.
I had no problem applying this or rinsing it out. I felt a noticeable difference in the softness of their hair after starting to use this product. Neither of the girls move or scream anymore because the comb goes right through. Their hair also seems easier to comb all day long.
The bottle says that it includes the No More Tears formula. This went right in my 2-year-olds eyes on the first use and she screamed her head off. She doesn’t say anything when the No More Tears formula shampoo gets in her eyes.
The bottle indicates that it is allergy tested. It does have fragrance but is very light.
Ingredients as quoted from the bottle: Water, Cetyl Alcohol, PEG-180, Behentrimonium Chloride, Amodimethicone, Glycol Distearate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Cetyl Esters, lauryl PEG/PPG-18/18 Methicone, Methylparaben, Trideceth-12, Propylparaben, Cetrimonium Chloride, Fragrance
I have noticed a decrease in bad hair days and less of a need for detangling spray. The scent matches nicely with their other products and the kids like it. This retails for $3.00 or less. I got mine at Target in the children’s bath section.
