I have two little girls who are trying to grow there hair out. So far, it’s been a mangy mess. Their hair was always getting knots in it and of course they would over react each time it was combed.
I set out to get a new detangling spray and found a few to select from in the children’s bathing section. I chose to go with the Buddies No More Tangles Easy-comb Spray because I thought it would go well with the shampoo and conditioner in the Buddies series.
The Buddies series was designed for toddlers who were learning to become self-sufficient in the bathroom. My 5-year-old enjoys primping so I thought something that was designed with her in mind would be best, plus she insisted.
The bottle is a pretty pink bottle which definitely appeals to my little princess. It has a little curve on the side for easy grasping. It has a higher quality spray nozzle with a wide head so is easier to press down than a traditional thin spay nozzle. I would imagine that a boy would not allow this to be spayed on his hair since it’s in a pink container.
This product can be used on wet or dry hair and does not need to be rinsed out like conditioner does. My first experience with this product was with wet hair. I had not used a conditioner so sprayed this on their hair after they towel dried their hair and tried combing. It helped assist in combing but the hair didn’t flow through the comb like it does when it’s conditioned. After their hair was dry I needed to spray it again while combing.
I try not to use this very much because it makes their hair limp. My 2-year-old hates for it to be sprayed in her hair. My 5-year-old doesn’t mind but it’s the end of the world if it gets on her face.
After using the spray I immediately noticed that the tile floor was very wet after we sprayed this on my daughter’s hair to I made a note to be careful next time. I was very careful the second time and the floor was slippery and wet again. The spray nozzle seems to have a wide distribution which is nice because it covers a lot of hair at once but drenches the floor. We’ve been using this while standing on a towel to prevent slips.
Another thing I don't like about the nozzle is that I can't just target a knot, it soaks the hole area. I like the way the bottle and pump work together to get the spray out. I can use it with one hand and comb with the other. This product should be easier than other spays for beginners to use on their own.
We like the way this product smells. It has a fresh bath scent to it but the smell doesn’t last very long at all in the hair. Since we are using other similar products the smells blend nicely together.
This is one of 7 products in the bathroom Buddies series. We were pleased with the Buddies Shampoo and the Buddies Conditioner but I don’t know if we will be buying the Buddies Easy-comb Spray anymore. I will probably experiment with other brands first. It will take out a knot if spayed on the spot but I just don’t like the way the hair looks after we’ve spayed it. It doesn't really look greasy, just sad. The girls have really fine hair so it doesn't take much to destroy what little body it has.
This will be a necessity for the beach and pool this summer. The bottle is designed to last and the spay nozzle won't get torn off so I will choose this bottle over other brands for our beach bag.
