| jlhin's Full Review: Johnsons Cucumber Melon Baby Wash |
I have to admit that I am just as addicted to buying new baby washes as I am to buying body washes for myself! Every time I see a new scent or brand I have to pick it up and try it. When Johnson's came out with their own Cucumber Melon Baby Wash I couldn't resist buying a bottle of it. Unfortunately this one just wasn't a favorite!
Cost & Location
I purchased my large 28 OZ bottle of Johnson's Cucumber Melon Baby Wash at my local Wal-Mart Super Center on sale for $3.47. You can purchase this product almost anywhere Johnson's products are sold, varying in price.
The Details
Johnson's Cucumber Melon Baby Wash comes in a mint green bottle. Mine has a pump for easy dispensing, but, the smaller bottles have a flip top cap. The wash itself is off white and slightly shimmery in color. It has a slightly creamy texture and is a bit thicker in texture than the other Johnson's washes we've tried.
As with all Johnson's Baby Washes, their Cucumber Melon Baby Wash is formulated to be gentle on baby's skin and tear free.
Johnson's claims that their Cucumber Melon Baby Wash will nourish baby's skin and leave it feeling soft and moisturized. This wasn't the case for us, but, more on that later.
While the scent of Johnson's Cucumber Melon Baby Wash is nice and clean and fresh, it doesn't necessarily remind me of any Cucumber Melon cleanser I have ever tried. The scent isn't by any means horrible, it's just not what I expected. This scent has no staying power. There is no lingering scent left behind on Addison's skin after bathing.
Not What I Had Hoped For
I have come to trust Johnson's Baby Washes for their moisturizing qualities and wonderful scents. Unfortunately this one just didn't live up to my expectations.
Addison has rather tricky skin. We deal with Eczema on a regular basis and as long as we're using a nice moisturizing baby wash, it's usually not a major issue. Unfortunately Johnson's Cucumber Melon Baby Wash irritated her Eczema. While Johnson's claims that this wash will nourish and moisturize the skin, it simply doesn't. Addison's skin was left rather dry and didn't feel smooth and soft at all. From the first use, she would scratch her skin as soon as she was out of the tub. I gave this wash several more tries before finally deciding that it was definitely what was causing the dry skin issues.
Johnson's Cucumber Melon Baby Wash lathered up well, and was creamy to the touch. It rinsed easily without leaving any residue behind. While I'm not necessarily in love with the scent, it wasn't one that I just hated. I just wish it had been more true to a cucumber melon type scent.
Overall
Unfortunately, I just can't recommend Johnson's Cucumber Melon Baby Wash. It just isn't nearly as moisturizing as it needs to be and the scent just isn't what I expected.
