When I find a bath product for my son that I like, I stick with it. I take the, “If it isn’t broke…” theory because why mess around with ingredients that have the potential to irritate delicate skin. My son’s a big boy now, but I still take the same approach as when Big Red was an infant. I test all bath and body products first, and deem Johnson’s Moisture Care Baby Wash to be good enough for me. No really, I plan to snag it for myself.

Johnson’s Moisture Care Baby Wash is a liquid body soap designated for babies. It has the consistency of liquid hand soap, and is pink pearlescent in color. Johnson’s states that it’s made with baby lotion to soften skin, and I don’t doubt it, as it is very soft. It produces a mild lather perfect for squirmy babies, and smells like Johnson’s Baby Lotion. The bottle states that it has a “baby-fresh scent” and that’s what it smells like to me, Johnson’s brand baby lotion. The baby wash is available in three sizes: 9 fl oz, 15 fl oz, and the large 28 fl oz size. The two smaller bottles are packaged with a squeeze-type bottle, and a flip-top lid. The lid is placed at the top, as opposed to the bottom, and works perfectly for measuring a perfect tub-size amount if enhancing the bath water as well. The large 28 fl oz size comes with an easy-to-use pump. To use, apply to skin using your hand, or washcloth. Lather product, wash, and rinse.

Our Experience:
This body wash came into our household by default. Johnson’s Bedtime Bath was depleted at our local grocery store, and when my husband was sent to the store to pick up the usual, he figured the “new” pink bottle would be appropriate for the task.

Mom’s reaction, “Are you blind? Our usual stuff comes in a violet bottle, plus this is a baby wash, not a baby bath.”

Husbands retort, “They were out of our usual stuff, and what’s the difference?”

UGH! Must I explain everything to him? Despite the little tiff with hubby, I promptly rubbed the stuff on my arm, and poked some in my eye. The soap was only mildly irritating to my eye. It only lasted a second or two, and it did not produce tears as the Johnson’s packaging states, “No more tears.” I know this isn’t a baby shampoo, and therefore it’s unlikely to get into the boys eyes, but as I said, I test everything.

The in-the-bottle smell is baby-fresh, although a bit stronger than Johnson’s Baby Lotion. It smells like baby to me, yet I don’t find the smell lingers on my son’s skin, or mine skin long. Johnson’s Moisture Care Baby Wash is rich, and velvety to the touch. One only needs a small amount to do the job. It leaves the skin feeling clean as well as soft, and I didn’t detect any soap residue. The lather is mild, which I prefer. It foams up enough to clean the skin, yet it’s not too sudsy to rinse a wet, and wild baby. I definitely recommend Johnson’s Moisture Care Baby Wash. The milky opalescent luster, and moisturizing characteristics keeps me coming back for more.
