Farnam™, Just Born™ Hand Feeding Kit, generated of quality materials especially chosen to fashion a durable, heat-resistant unit especially designed to withstand frequent sterilization.

Depending upon age, size and breed of critter needing help; I have used PetAg 2 and 4 ounce bottles and Farnam’s Just Born 2 oz. bottle specifically calibrated by tablespoon for feeding accuracy and crafted especially for smaller breed critters.  Just Born’s nurser features a smaller, shorter, especially supple nipple designed to simulate the milking action of critter mom and supply ease of use for infant critter along with the appropriate quantity of nutrition for the growing infant.

Nipples are heat-resistant allowing for recurring washing and sterilization. As always for nursing kittens, puppies and other small animals, veterinarian should be consulted for advice on the care and feeding of infant critters before feeding is begun.

Note: MILK REPLACERS  should be used for feeding infant critters other than humans and cattle.

Note: 1 tablespoon liquid = .5 fluid oz which is 15 ml.

Before use; nipple will need a small opening at the tip, use hot pin or razor blade.  The bigger the opening the faster milk will flow; do not make hole too big.

Measure the proper amount of milk replacer into the bottle, feed, clean bottle and nipple well following feeding, consult vet regarding sterilization.

The carded Just Born Hand Feeding Kit includes a bottle with twist ring similar to standard baby bottle, 3 nipples and bottle/nipple brush.  Carded units presented showing infant kitten and puppy; offered at most pet shops catering to household pets, and, the one presented at the local feed, farm and tractor supply which also shows an infant raccoon are available.

While most of the abandoned, thrown away or otherwise homeless critters who come to our door are not infants, now and then we do fall heir to a baby or two.  If I am lucky at the moment then I have a nursing mom who is willing to accept the baby.  My sweet Toes was one such mom as was the left behind little lady we met at the first house where we lived when we first came toOklahoma. 

Not only did MC, Mama Cat, accept babies, but long after she was spayed; arrival of an infant put her into instant Mom mode, she began producing milk and the baby thrived under her adoring care.

Both Toes and MC have been gone for quite a while, and now I rely on NURSING BOTTLES and MILK REPLACER. 

The Just Born bottles and nipples presented in this carded unit are easy to use and clean.  Bottles and nipples are sturdy poly are shorter and softer than any other I have found.

IMPORTANT: while few of us want to simply – let nature take its course - it is imperative to understand user’s state policy regarding wildlife possession. In some states it is against the law to keep rescued wildlife. These states fund specially licensed rehabilitators to care for the animals for the protection of wildlife.

While several years ago Bambi was an older fawn when orphaned our state law precluded my attempting to help her per se.  On the other hand, nothing in the law said I had to run her off, so she spent her first winter without mom, but with resident horses and smaller critters, and continues to view our pasture as her home even though she has never been a pet, and will not be one.
