The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this movie. If you liked Contact and Pay It Forward and Patch Adams, you'll love this movie.

Unlike the critics I see posting here, I have enjoyed Jeff Bridges and Kevin Spacey's movies lately. In a nutshell, if you liked "Pay It Forward" and some of the other movies from these guys, you'll love K-Pax.
This movie has two things going for it. The best part is the open ending. You'll be able to see this movie again and again and still walk away not knowing if he's an alien or just a messed up guy with a messed up past. I haven't seen a movie like that since "Basic Instinct" (bet you never thought someone would compare K-Pax to Basic Instinct, eh?).
The other good quality of K-Pax is that it's the kind of movie that inspires people to wonder, and I think that's a great quality for a movie. It should make you wonder about everything from whether aliens exist or not to little things like when was the last time you talked to your parents/children. It portrays the wonder of science in a way that few movies do (I liked the comment by another reviewer that mentioned "Contact").
If you are like me and don't get out to see a lot of movies, I recommend putting this one at the top of the list. It's worth it.
