Cons: Has to be adjusted most times if you leave it affixed to the seatbelt.
The Bottom Line: I am very happy with the overall result of this purchase! I can see my son using this for a few years and I wouldn't mind having one myself.
miller1611's Full Review: Kalencom Seat Belt Snoozer Demin/ Piping
How about a fun product that I have just discovered for your child that is over 40 pounds? My son finally hit that mark and was promised a “big boy booster seat” after Christmas. Not one day after traveling with the new booster seat, was mama ready to sit in the back with him and hold his head up when he fell asleep. His head flopped all around, so as soon as I got home I started hunting some kind of pillow that would attach to a booster seat. The most expensive product that I found was a Seat Belt Snoozer made by Kalencom.
I thought that ironic because Kalencom makes the diaper bag that I have just purchased for my new baby to be. Now let me go back and say that I was not looking for the most expensive solution of course, but I love my diaper bag so far and since this was a company I was familiar with I thought it would be the best one to try first. I really didn’t have high expectations, because I have found in the past for many booster seat accessories to be overrated. However anything would be better than my little boy’s head flopping around in the back seat when trying to take a snooze. The Pillow… I bought mine on eBay for $20 and that included shipping and handling. Most were priced from $12.99 - $14.99. I chose the Denim color and was surprised to find when I took it out of the package that it was a very nice Denim color, with a pretty and significant red piping outlining the pillow. The material is soft and doesn’t feel cheapo at all.
The concept of the pillow is an upside down L shape. The bottom part of the L if you will fits around the back of your child’s neck and then down around your chest following the seatbelt pattern. There are two Velcro straps that can fit loosely or tightly around the seatbelt to secure the pillow. The object is when your child’s head falls to one side when he falls asleep that the pillow catches it or he can sort of cradle the pillow and hold onto it to help go to sleep. From Seatbelt Snoozer… One size fits all - and I believe I will be using it myself! Easy to use - I wouldn’t go that far, because it can get a little tedious trying to affix the pillow just right for the maximum comfort and also so it won’t slip. The first couple of times I used the pillow I didn’t tighten the Velcro enough and my son wanted to take it off. Now that I pull the Velcro snug that is not a problem anymore. Machine Washable - Haven’t had to wash it yet, but like I said the material is pretty solid, durable quality and I figure washing will be no problem. Recommended age - Child must be out of car safety seat and able to use car’s seatbelt should strap. - I believe that this will be a product that requires that we go back for seconds. I love to sleep on long road trips and so does my son. I bet we fight over this one!
You can Google Seatbelt Snoozer and find this product on many websites. The pillow comes in a few different patterns, but I was very pleasantly surprised with the Denim color. This is one of the only products out there for bobbing heads and I think it is a good one. I am very happy with the overall result of this purchase!
