sduncanae's Full Review: Kaser Corporation Kaser miniVault 8GB USB 2.0 Mobi...
There is a good reason that Cornice Corp of Colorado is out of business. They bet the farm on micro drive technology when flash memory prices were falling like a rock. Despite their "crash guard" technology, these devices seem to work for about a month or less before they start click-click-clicking and are no longer recognized by your OS and your data is gone. I purchased mine at Frys and it came bundled with the Xvault Mambo portable media player, which actually works quite well despite the clunky interface. Now that you can buy an 8GB flash drive for $15, there is no point in putting your data in the trust of moving storage. Yes, Kaser has no support. I learned that years ago when I bought a "Yo Fun" MP3 player. Like many other "brand-x products", this is one of those take your chances hit or miss offerings. I still have a 256MB CF micro drive which is still working so microdrives can and do work. But this production run should be avoided.
