Phil, last time (actually the only time) I was at this deli was when I was in high school. I remember standing at the counter and having them cut me a chunk of pastrami to taste. It was incredible.
I've spoken to relatives that still live in NY and they say that over the years the place has gone down hill, it is not as clean and in general just not as good as it used to be in years past.
You haven't found that to be true?

I love just love Katz's Deli!!!! We used to g o there whenever we were in the city for a Reuben , chopped liver or Pastrami sandwich...A friend of ours lived not far from there and we also would go meet him there for breakfast, they had the best French toast and o fcourse bagels with all the trimmings...I'm having such a craving now I cant stand it...:) I want an Egg Cream!

Very clever title and review. I am glad to know about this place, as I still hadn't found a deli in NYC that I loved. The scene with sally was great and so was this review!
