| Howie11239's Full Review: Katz's Deli |
Katz's Delicatessen is a New York institution that serves the best Pastrami sandwich anywhere. Go up to the counter and put a buck or two into the cutter's tip plate, and watch that sandwich get bigger and bigger and bigger! Still, it's not the size that makes it great; it's the meat. What meat! Juicy, tender, tasty, peppery pastrami cut by hand piled high and served with incredibly wonderful sour pickles. Fries, slaw, and potato salad are available too, but don't bother. You'll need every drop of room just to finish the sandwich.
If Pastrami is not your style, try a really wonderful hot dog, crunchy and flavorful, or a fine piece of knoblewurst or garlic sausage. Both are delicious and filling. Corned beef is satisfactory as is the salami, brisket, and roast beef.
When it comes to Katz's, though, the topic boils down to a single word: Pastrami!!!!
