I hate not knowing what to eat. You know that there are just too many choices out there when a person cannot figure out what they want to eat. So I try to break down the choices to one that is affordable that I can bring from home to work with me. That is one of the reasons I started eating Kellog's Pop-tarts Whole grain Brown Sugar Cinnamon.
Kellog's Pop-tarts Whole grain Brown Sugar Cinnamon is a pop-tart that tastes just as good as the regular pop-tarts with the difference being that it contains 1 serving of whole grain. When I saw the green and blue 100% recycled paperboard box in the cereal grocery aisle, it caught my attention because it had emboldened on it the words New and whole grain and I knew at that moment that it was made just for me. A box of 8 pop-tarts cost me about $3.00.
A box of 8 has 8 servings in it. 2 pop-tarts are paired off together in an aluminum pouch, but the box says that 1 equates a serving. I usually eat 2 though because it reminds me of bread and who eats just one slice? And when I consider that it has no cholesterol, high calorie content, loads of grease and is made with more whole wheat flour than enriched white flour, it makes it easier for me to choose to eat 2 than 1.
A serving of Kellog's Pop-tarts Whole grain Brown Sugar Cinnamon contains 200 calories with 60 of those calories being from fat. It has 0mg of cholesterol because it is not made with any meat or fish. It has 3g of protein in it because it is made with soy milk and soybean oil. 34g of carbohydrates are contained in this box of pop-tarts. It has 10% of the daily value of vitamin A, 10% of the daily value of vitamin B6, 10% of the daily value of iron, 10% of the daily value of thiamin, 10% of the daily value of riboflavin, 10% of the daily value of niacin and 4% of the daily value of folic acid. It contains soy and wheat. The dietary exchange for weight watchers dieters is 2 carbohydrates and 1 fat. Not bad for a good breakfast.
It is easy to make a Kellog's Pop-tarts Whole grain Brown Sugar Cinnamon. First you remove the fully baked and ready-to-eat pastry out of the pouch and you can either eat it like that or warm it. For the best taste, I would recommend warming it. In the same way you would toast bread or a regular pop-tart, you put it into your toaster oven and let it heat until it turns brown. When warmed, the brown sugar and cinnamon flavors taste delicious. It is sweet and moist which is just the way I like my pastries. It goes well with a nice hot brewed cup of coffee or just by itself. The packaging also has instructions for warming it in a microwave oven, though I would say that when warmed in a toaster oven, it comes out so much better.
If you are looking for something good to eat, maybe you should try a box of the whole wheat pop-tarts for yourself. It also comes in strawberry if you are not a brown sugar type of person. And when you think about the cost, 1 serving from a $3 box is less than $1 for breakfast and there is nothing like eating something affordable and saving the rest of the money for a rainy day. Yet it is not always about the cost, but the taste and Kellog's Pop-tarts Whole grain Brown Sugar Cinnamon tastes great and I love them and highly recommend them.
