The Bottom Line: Highly recommended! Wished Kenmore made a portable washer/dryer combo in one though.

I wanted one of the washer/dryer in one combo's, but after reading all the reviews, I felt uneasy, so I purchased the Kenmore model 44722 instead. It is almost a full size basket; I can pretty much wash a full load! It works just like a traditional washing machine. It is not too loud when it spins either. I live in an upstairs apartment, so I was concerned about any noise it would make. I could not be happier. It is one of the best investments I have ever made in my adult life beside probably a car, or PC and or phone LOL. I will never live in an apartment without one. I do my wash a day before I expect to need anything and just hang my clothes up on hangers to air dry throughout the night. The clothes are the normal dampness as you expect from a traditional washer. Only thing is I wished it had a spin only and or a rinse only cycle, where you can set it like a regular washer. But that's ok. I'm still tickled pink. It sure does beat going to the laundry mat. Also, I use regular soap or bleach and a downy ball with downy for softener. Also, I chose this because I could drive to a Sears and actually see the model in person before I buy too. Then I looked up a Sears appliance outlet (which you can look online for) and got one for $305 out the door. What a steal. It hooked up to my faucet easily too. I thought that might be a problem but it wasn’t. One trick though, about twice when I went to turn it on, all seemed ok, but I could hear no water filling it up, I found out if I 'nudge' or lightly 'tap' the outlet leading into the back it'll start working right away (not the part that it connected to the faucet). It is such a subtle nudge I don't know why it does that, it’s all hooked up properly. But it's only done that a couple of times, it's not a bother at all. Sort of just like making sure the lid is all the way down. In addition, it is not that heavy, if you HAD to move it yourself up stairs, you could. I have a TV that is much heavier then this. I think it is like 60lbs. I know the ad says 100lbs I think, but it's not that heavy. All my friends that are in apartments want one now. I would highly recommend this item. You can get a Sears warranty on it too.
