Pros: Super strong vacuum, high quality dirt sensor, 17 foot attachment hose, relatively quiet.
Cons: Beater brush in hand tool stops when you use force on it when vacuuming carpet.
The Bottom Line: It will pull dirt out of polished marble top. It has a super strong suction and it converted a loyal Hoover fan to Sears Kenmore. I'd rate it 6 stars!

| madtown91's Full Review: Kenmore 36933 Bagless Upright Vacuum |
We received a new Sears Kenmore Progressive with Direct Drive vacuum (Model #:116.36933) for Christmas from my in-laws. We own a self propelled Hoover Premium Windtunnel with dirt sensor that I paid $300 for about 5 years ago, so I did not think we needed it. In addition, why did they buy a Sears Kenmore when Hoover, Dyson, Eureka, Kirby, etc. are out there?
Well, ignore the fact that it is rated #1 in Consumer's Report (March 2006). Ignore the fact that Sears parts are the easiest to get (doubt you'll ever need them, but hey, nice to know anyway). I was very skeptical. So, I vacuumed the living room with our trusty Hoover Windtunnel. I used the dirt sensor on the Hoover and stopped when it said the carpet was clean. My wife came through right after me with the new Kenmore and it pulled out so much dirt and sand, that I was embarrassed that I ever doubted it. The carpet actually looks new. I couldn't believe the difference. I was so impressed, I actually continued with it and vacuumed the entire house.
I am not a person that brags about items, but this one is different. I can't remember the last time I was so impressed with an item. I actually told my parents to try it for a day knowing they will switch. Who would have guessed Sears would lead the pack on vacuums over Hoover?
We received the bagless model and again, I was negative to start. Now that we have it, I love it. It is an awesome motivator for vacuuming. It is super easy to dump and has the cyclonic action in it. This model has dirt sensor, on/off for hand tools, 17 foot hose (about 11 steps), super easy dump, viewable brush, etc.
The Hoover is now a big paperweight in the basement and will be sold at the next neighborhood garage sale to a person that is an "old me". A person that believes Hoover and Eureka are the best vacuums and vacuuming is successful when the viewable dirt is removed from the carpet.
Our carpet salesperson that told us the top 3 things that age carpet are dirt, dirt, dirt. Well seeing what we pulled out of the carpet and seeing the way the carpet looks after the Kenmore, I would expect 10 years to be added to the life of our carpet just because of the Sears Kenmore vacuum.
Awesome vacuum, well worth the money. Even if you have a good vacuum, the Sears Kenmore will pay for itself.
