Pros: Pretty good washer, but it's useless after it breaks.
Cons: Front panel stopped working after just two years. Replacement parts are expensive. Kenmore is JUNK.
Two years ago, we bought a Kenmore HE3 Elite front load washer at Sears. Today it broke, just a few months after the warranty on the electronics parts expired.
The unit cost us over $1000 new, and we used it only about 200 times, so our cost was $5 per use, plus water, plus electricity, plus detergent. A laundromat would have been cheaper.
Here is what the replacement parts would cost:
Control panel $282.
Right side user interface $340.
Center user interface $340.
I could pay a repair person $100 to inspect our broken Kenmore washer, but he would probably tell me that one or more circuit boards would need to be replaced. And then I could end up paying a substantial portion of the purchase price all over again, just to get it repaired. So instead, I'm going to buy a new washer. And you can be sure it will NOT be a Kenmore. Nor will it be a Frigidaire, which I understand is the company that makes the Kenmore front load washers. And it will NOT be an Electrolux either, as they own Frigidaire.
One additional reason why you should avoid the Kenmore brand is that Kenmore appliances are manufactured by various different companies. So you cannot tell what quality you are getting when you buy a Kenmore. Even your store salesperson may not actually know who makes each Kenmore product.
If you want the best washer brand, I definitely do NOT recommend Kenmore, Frigidaire, or Electrolux. Avoid Kenmore appliances. Avoid Kenmore front load washers in particular. Avoid Frigidaire. And avoid Electrolux.
