I bought this grill last year and since then I cant say any bad word about it.
I spent entire spring (2002) looking for a grill. I really liked stainless still grills, wanted infrared rotisserie burner and side burner, but as I found out, all of them would cost me at least $800.
Then I when to Sears and sow this particular grill for $500. I examined it and was surprise that the grill had everything I wished for: stainless still, side burner, four individually adjustable iron burners, infrared rotisserie burner, smoker tray, enclosed cabined, slide out tray for propane tank, slide out tray for grease, electronic ignition (I love it) and most important two heavy grids made from iron. I order it right away and could not wait to get it.
The grill comes disassembled but it is not a problem since it is very easy to assemble.
Before you do this, make sure that you are putting this grill together in the spot where its going to reside in the future. It is very heavy (stainless still + iron) and once it is assembled it is not easy to move around between the levels.
The grill looks really cool no hanging tank on the side, plus I can put a lot of stuff inside it.
To ignite the grill - just press the button and wait until you see the flame, as long as your battery holding just a little bit of electricity you wont have any problems.
Cooking is very easy food is not exposed to the direct flame, and the grids (remember I mentioned two heavy grids made from iron) hold the heat well keeping it even. Heat is easy to control because of four individually adjustable burners.
Smoker does not contribute a lot to the cooking process but you still can fill the smell of the smoke.
Rotisserie cooks much slower then as seen on TV "set it and forget it", but I still like to make a lot of stuff on it, a specially pineapple.
Side burner is convenient to boil the water or keep something worm. I dont have to run to the kitchen every time some one wants fresh cup of tee or coffee.
Couple advises.
First of all if you completely finished cooking or if you are not going to do anything for more then 20 minutes then shut the valve on the propane gas tank first and wait until the flame is out. If you just shut down the burners then it is not easy to restart the grill - it looks like there is not enough pressure in the tank or the tank is empty. First time that happened to me I did not know what to do and I had 20 people waiting for food and it was 11pm and it was too late to exchange the tank. I could not believe that the tank was empty. So I started to open and close and ignite any burner separately or in combination. It worked once I ignited the infrared burner and let it run for couple of seconds. Then I ignited all other burners and the flame was just the way it suppose to be.
Another problem I experienced with the tank. I got one from the K-mart and it was little bit taller that the distance between the slide out tray and the magnets on the cabinet that keep the door closed. I did not exchange tanks, (I have two just in case Ill run out of gas during a party) I was filling them up at the local hardware store. So, for a year I was complaining about the stupid magnets that are on the way when I slide out the tank, but in January of this year on Sunday when the hardware store was closed I had to exchange one tank at the Wall Mart and surprisingly it was just the size my grill needed.
