Pros: Tub size, fairly quiet, technology tries to be an asset.
Cons: Unreliable, technology ends up working against it.
The Bottom Line: I do not recommend this machine. Go with the LG WM2688HNM TROMM Front-Load SteamWasher if you want a high-end/high-priced washer, or spend less and get a less complicated/less technical top-loader.

| mwfplus3's Full Review: Kenmore Elite Oasis 27087 Stainless Steel Top Load... |
We owned this machine for about four months. Just after the 90-day return period was over, we got an error code and the machine no longer worked. The earliest we could get a repairman out from Sears was ten days. With two small children, going without a washer for ten days was not just a small inconvenience, it was a major ordeal for us. Once the repairman came out, as I had predicted to my wife, low and behold, the malfunctioning part (a load sensor, whatever that is) was not available and had to be ordered. This meant waiting another week. However, after phoning Sears and begging for a quicker repair, they shipped the part overnight delivery and we had the machine repaired within another three days.
One month later and another error code surfaced, this time shutting the machine down in mid-cycle. This time the machine could be re-set, and sometimes the cycle would complete, sometimes not. A fast-cycle setting normally worked. We phoned Sears and complained again and to their credit, they allowed us to return the units (dryer too) with a refund, although I did have to pay a re-stocking fee for the dryer, amounting to around $150. This was a fair deal, I believe, since they didn't have to take the return at all. After paying so much for this washer (around $900) we expected performance pretty close to perfection. We didn't get anywhere near that though. The matching dryer worked okay, but nothing exceptional.
Another thing is that if the machine detects that the load is not properly balanced, it stops the cycle. Even when you carefully distribute the load evenly, it can get off balance during the cycle and the wash will stop. This means that you return to the machine about an hour or so after you started it, thinking that the clothes will be ready to transfer to the dryer, only to find out you have to start the process all over again. Another frustration!
If you are planning to spend major dollars on a machine, check out the LG WM2688HNM 27" TROMM Front-Load SteamWasher. We switched over to this machine...it has excellent reviews, and so far (albeit only a few days) we love it.
I do not recommend spending the amount of money this machine costs...move to a cheaper top loader or go with the LG.
