Pros: Uses less water than an agitating machine and can handle a few more clothes.
Cons: Doesn't get clothes as clean as an agitating machine and more pre-treatment is required.
The Bottom Line: The technician who came out to repair my washer 3 times would recommend the front-loader instead.

I have had problems with this washer since about 2 months after I purchased it. 1st Service call was in late November 2006, another in Jan 2007, and now again in April 2007. The error code "F" 51 appears and it won't continue the cycle. The technician stated that they don't know much about these machines yet. The Front-Loader is what he would recommend because these Top Loaders have problems. It's great when it works but I'm very unhappy that I paid $900 for a machine that doesn't continually provide me with good service. Don't bother with the warranty because the same problem has to happen 4 times before they'll even consider a replacement. By that I mean the same exact part has to be replaced at least 4 times during a 12 month period in order to consider it a Lemon. Ok, so maybe I don't have quite a lemon yet, but it's definitely a rotten apple! Another good thing to know is that the Top Loader doesn't save you as much on your water bill than a Front-Loader. The Front-Loader uses 1/2 the water that the Top loader does plus the spinning cycle rpm's are much faster and practically dry the clothes. That is less dry time which also saves money for you. I would not recommend this machine.
