Pros: Worked well for two months
Cons: Electronic components are unreliable Sears' customer service is inefficient and unreliable
I purchased this machine in September 2007. It worked well for the first two months - clothes were clean, and I was happy with the lower water use and the variety of cleaning cycles. Unfortunately, after only two months of use this machine began to have electronic malfunctions (F28 error)which caused the washing machine to stop during the spin cycle, and this has occurred with increased frequency. So far, the Sears technician has been here three times and the machine is not fixed. I'm currently waiting for parts which were supposed to arrive several days ago, and once they arrive the technician will replace the electrical panel once again. In the meantime a new problem has come up; I was previously able to stop the machine when it malfunctioned and restart it or take the laundry out, but now this doesn't even work, so my laundry stays locked in the machine while I unplug it for a few hours and then try again.
For me, this front-loading machine has been a huge waste of time. When a wash cycle takes an hour to begin with and then you have to reset it to run the last 15-30 minutes again (sometimes multiple times!), it takes a very long time to do the laundry. I have spent way to long on the phone, scheduling appointments and then rescheduling appointments when the ordered parts did not arrive on schedule. I have been unimpressed with the Sears customer service line; on several occasions the system has been down or I have been passed to the wrong department or given misinformation. Each time a technician comes, I have to clear half of my day so that I can be home during the four-hour window. I am very glad I purchased the warranty, but if I had it to do over again, I wouldn't purchase the warranty OR the machine.
