I bought this washer new two years ago, now it's been thrown away and replaced with a rebuilt Maytag from a few years ago. It only had about 5 good months, then the problems began.

First, there's a big plastic ring around the top of the tub. This is supposed to be sealed, but it filled with water and caused the spin to be off balance, so I drilled holes in it to let the water out (really stinky water), and it was ok for a while.
Second, it started to get F1 errors (in Kenmore parlance, the F1 error is "F*** you").
Third, it died entirely.
This washer would typically take 3 hours doing a load 'cos of all the troubles it would have. Towards the end, I was doing the rinse by hand, so I figured I could do the whole wash in the bath tub easier.
