Pros: It's got perfect hold and doesn't weigh your hair down
Cons: Absolutely none. I won't even balk about the price...it's THAT good!
The Bottom Line: I hardly say this about any kind of product, but I really believe this stuff to be a hair care miracle in a bottle...really!

I’ve admitted many times that I’m a fluff chick. I enjoy trying new and different makeup, skin care and hair products. Right now my latest obsession, er...um, I mean hobby, is trying to make my hair look very healthy and natural. Since my hair is chemically treated (highlighted), and tends to lean on the side of wavy, it’s apt to look a bit on the fuzzy side. So I’m trying to find some products to tone down the frizzies a bit. A friend of mine introduced me to a product by Redken called Glass. I've been using it for a month, and it's doing a nice job of making my sometimes dull hair look shiny and radiant; however, it’s not quite doing enough to tone down my fuzzies. So over the course of a few months I decided to try some different styling products to help this problem.
The Product:
Kenra Artformation Mousse is my fuzzy fix. It’s a firm hold fixative that controls your hair without being stiff or sticky. Sometimes when I use mousse or gel, I get almost a crunchy effect to my hair. That’s not what I was looking for. I wanted a nice smooth effect, but with hold. Artformation gives me a firm hold but without crunch. Even though Artformation gives me a solid hold on my hairstyle, it’s a very lightweight mousse to use.
Be sure to shake the bottle well before you dispense a dollop in your hand. Unlike many drug store brands of hair care products you don’t need much. This mousse comes out of the can like a liquid and foams into a mousse after it hits your hand. So be very careful how much you dispense into your hand, as it at least quadruples in size after it foams up. I wasted about half of the first handful I used because I wasn’t ready for the foam effect. I ended up with way too much mousse in my hand. So consider yourself warned.
Artformation is distributed by Kenra, which can be found on the web at www.kenra.com, or you can reach them by phone at 800-428-8073. You can purchase Kenra at any Kenra participating salons (found on their web page) or at the retail store Trade Secret. If you don’t have a Kenra salon or a Trade Secret near you, you can also purchase Kenra products from the web at http://www.spiralhaircase.com/index.html.
I’m also including ingredients for allergy purposes:
Water, Polyquaternium-11, PVP/VA Copolymer, Isobutane, Propane, butane, Dimethicone, Copolyol, Steareth-21, Coamidopropyl Betaine, Fragrance, nonoxynon-12, Quaternium-52, DMDM Hydantoin, PPG-5-Ceteth-20, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Benzophenone-4.
My Experience:
I actually stumbled upon Artfomation a little over a month ago when visiting Trade Secret. A friend of mine (Hi Shantel) tipped me off that Trade Secret gives away samples of products they have if you just ask. All the years I’ve been shopping at Trade Secret and I’ve never once received a sample of anything...because I didn’t ask. So the last time I was in, I bough $15 worth of nail products, and asked the sales associate what kind of samples they had that day. To my surprise she whipped out a 2 oz bottle of Kenra Artformation Mousse, a 2 oz bottle of Kenra Volumizing Hairspray, and a 2 oz bottle of Redken Straightening Balm.
Cool.
Since I hate change, I sat on the mousse for a week or so before I used it. (No, I didn’t actually sit on it silly, I'm speaking figuratively!) Once I finally did use it, I was thrilled. I was able to straighten my wavy hair into the style I wanted, and it held there...almost all day! I hardly had to use any hairspray on my style and I had beautiful flips of hair that stayed most of the day. And not only did it stay, but also with the help of my Redken Glass, I had absolutely no frizzies, fuzzies or otherwise. It totally cleared up my problem hair.
My hair now looks healthy and shiny. And all I had to do was change styling products. So of course I headed back to Trade Secret to pick up a full sized bottle of Artformation. You get 8 oz for around $10-$12. It took me almost a month to use up my 2-oz sample bottle, so I have a feeling I’ll have an 8-oz bottle for a good three to four month period.
If you have wavy, curly or thick hair, but have problems with control, you might want to try Artformation, I think you’ll be just as impressed as I am.
