| techeros's Full Review: ACCO Brands 33085 Bluetooth Wireless Adapter |
I am a computer network administrator, and I am going in circles with this thing!
This thing is horrible. Here is why:
1. This device comes with a cd that can not and will not be found on Kensington's website, so don't bother looking for suppport.
UPDATE
I wrote to Kinsington, and they sent me a to an older version of WidComm.
2. The WidCOMM software (found on the supplied cd)is 3rd party and MUST be installed in order for the BT to work. I believe ver. 4 is out as of 8-2-05
3. I understand other brands allow for plug and play, not this device.
4. This device cost about $40 bucks, but why bother when you can purchase a better brand, cheaper at NewEgg.
If a computer network admin has to spend 2 hours getting it to work (which by the way I was able to make it work) why bother when something better is out there?
UPDATE: Try the DLink DBT-120. I understand many folks are happy with this.
If you are inclinded to purchase this, take note of the part number model number 33085 of which I am reviewing.
