Pros: Extremely cheap for the performance. Great sound.
Cons: Speaker design.
The Bottom Line: This is definitely the best value for the money in its class.

| dstln's Full Review: Kenwood HTB-205 Theater System |
Over the past summer, I was looking for a new stereo to blast in my dorm room. I went to Best Buy for a look. After trying all of the stereos out (all of them without a dvd player since I already have one), I found this Kenwood to be amazing. It had amazing quality for how cheap it was. The sounds was great from all sides and it came with a decent amount of features and full digital support. The one downfall that I can tell though is the speaker design. They just aren't up to par with the competitors. But this isn't a car. If they have to make the speakers look a bit worse to make this bargain, so be it. Another iffy point is the size of the subwoofer. It's quite powerful, especially if you have it in a corner like I do, but it's a tad big (the size didn't turn out to be a problem for me though). 600 total watts of sonic goodness for less than $300 can't be beat.
Also, my unit was called the VR-605. The title above is different, but the picture and the power is the same, so I'm sure that it's the same one. And I only gave it worse ratings below because it is no where near the true professional quality machines, but that's not what you're in the market for if you're looking here anyway. :)
Overall, this is a great pick and in terms of value for the money, I give it 10/10.
