| rwills's Full Review: Kenwood HTB-205 Theater System |
This is my very first Home Theater System and I must say I am very happy with it. I read reviews here and other places. I looked at different systems in this price range and decided to go with the Kenwood. I'm glad I did. As I said this is my first theater system and really wasnt sure what to get. But I made my choice and went for the Kenwood.
Yes, the remote is small, but that was not really an issue for me. It works fine. Then there is the subwoofer. It is powered by the receiver, which again, was not an issue. It sounds just great. The wiring for the rear speakers are short and I did have to buy some extra speaker wire for those. I also hooked it up to my DVD player via the optical cable. Wow! I was so impressed by the sound. It just blew me away. Sound overall is just so much better. Even off of videotape or my DirecTV Satellite. It was a little intimidating hooking up all the cables and wires, being a novice, but in the end, I figured it out.
Now remember this is coming from someone new to the home theater thing, so this is mainly who I am writing this review for. If you want a good sounding system for a moderately sized room, this is for you. More experienced users may say that this system is just mediocre at best. And they are probably right. But for less than $500.00 it works for me.
