Pros: exceptional value for 250
Cons: subwoofer pops if too loud in digital mode
The Bottom Line: If you watch movies in a small to medium room and don't require high volumes this is a very nice system for the money.

OK, here's the deal on this unit. I purchased mine at Best Buy for $249 which included a $25 BBC gift card. So I basically paid $225 plus tax. The next system up as far as I can tell is about $400. So if you're looking for something decent on the low end, this is a good choice.
I've studied the features carefully and experimented on a variety of sound sources. Overall the sound is good and it will really kick out the music. The bass is decent and the versatility in terms of settings and configuration is awesome.
Here's the deal on the subwoofer. Dolby Digital sound in "cinema" mode is amazing. If you watch a movie like "Star Wars Attack of the Clones" in digital mode you need to keep the volume at a comfortable level and no higher. Otherwise, the ultra-low frequencies from a digital sound source overload the subwoofer amplifier channel and cause loud "firecracker like" pops in the subwoofer. I don't think this damages anything, but it's nasty sounding.
I thought this had to be the result of a defective receiver, so I kept the system but swapped for a new receiver (same system) at Best Buy. The results are the same - still pops with loud bass in digital mode.
Considering this flaw along with the low price, overall sound, and impressive features, I'm still going to keep the system and would recommend it for smaller rooms unless you like your movies really loud.
