Pros: Beautiful Sound, Excellent build quality, Extremely bright display, Highly adaptable.
Cons: full length animations, which look great, are short
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this unit as it satisfied my audiophile requirements with the ability to customize it.

| stameem's Full Review: Kenwood Excelon XXV-01D Car CD/ MP3 Player |
I recently replaced my eclipse head unit with the Kenwood xxv-01d and I have not regretted my decision. Installation was typical for a head unit. Setup is as simple or as complicated as you want it to be. The unit sounds fantastic with all of the default settings, but if you choose to, you can customize everything, I mean everything. The amount of tweeking is only limited by your time and will. Don't be intimidated by the vast array of options available, the unit's menus are very easy and straight forward to navigate. One of my requirements in a headunit is the degree to which you can see the display during the day in full sunlight, the XXV with its new EL display is the brightest full color display I have ever seen. The sound options are not the only aspect that can be customized, the display is Fully customizable to what you want displayed. I currently use the Sirius Tuner, iPod Controller, and AUX in (laptop) and all of the systems work flawlessly together (if you rather have XM, just buy the XM tuner and it works the same as the Sirius Tuner). Also, when the face is removed a red LED blinks to further discourage thieves. The build quality is superb, the face does not feel flimsy or cheap and it engages the head unit solidly and securely ( I hate cheap units whose faces feel like they are barely on and rattle around).
