I just bought mine this weekend from Bed Bath and Beyond for $150.00 (after coupons). It was a buy that my girlfriend and I couldn't pass up. Unfortunately, it reads "Not Ready" after the initial Priming and it now sits completely lifeless on our countertop. I got on the internet right away to see if other B70 buyers were having similar issues and what I found was astonishing. Nearly every other review on over 7 different websites were complaints about this "Not Ready" issue. It seems as though Keurig has a manufactured defect in this model that affects the pump/heating module, but their technical support denies this. They have told me that the issue sometime occurs when the "brew" button is pressed multiple times (probably by impatient consumers) during the brewing proccess. I was told that this can cause the pump to short out leaving you with a "Not Ready" message on the LCD screen. Although I did not press mine multiple times, the brewing proccess timed out and my machine will now need to be replaced. So far Keurig has seemed to have replaced 100% of the affected machines despite how in-date or out-of-date your warranty may be. They are willing to replace defective machines and that is all that matters. Remember, they're are many people who have this machine who have had no problems at all.
On an additional note. There are many reviews on here from people who complain about the loud/vibration noises that the pump makes, the quality of coffee it produces, and how hot the water is. Here are my comments:
1. I’ll admit, it is really loud, but so is eating a bowl of cereal, cooking some sausage, taking a shower, and flushing a toilet. Give me a break... If you're worried about it waking up your kids, your wife/husband, or your neighbor then don't plug it in next to your bed or out on your patio. If you’re in an apartment like my girlfriend and I where your kitchen is just a few feet away from your bedroom, then either grow a pair or take the unit back (you have 30 days). If your issue is that you cannot believe that it is that loud for a unit of which you just paid $200.00 for, then ask Keurig to make a "quieter" pump and help drive up the cost of the unit another $150.00 (pumps are not cheap).
2. As far as the quality of the coffee goes, I think it's great. I've had the hot coco so far and Gloria Jean’s blend from the machine that our Apartment complex owns. If you can't find any quality out of the 200 flavors offered, then buy the K cup's and throw in your own favorite blend (store bought or home grown) Making your own favorite blend in this machine is no different (flavor wise) than making it in a regular coffee maker. You have the option of making your coffee as diluted or rich as you want by simply selecting 12oz or 6oz (8oz being the preferred). If 12oz is too diluted for you, then brew 2 cups of the 8oz or 2 cups of 6oz. The possibilities are really endless here.
3. Someone said that the coffee that this machine makes is not hot. All I have to say here is that either your machines heating element is broken or your temperature controls have been turned down. Call Keurig for an RMA or turn up the heating temperature, but don’t rant in your review with useless babble about cold coffee. Your time would have been better spent getting it fixed than whining.
The bottom lines here are that you don't waste near as much coffee when compared to making coffee in a traditional coffee maker, you have your coffee made in less than 3 minutes, you can brew multiple different blends in a matter of minutes (that fulfills everyone’s taste without having 3/4 of a pot left-over), easy cleanup, and you can program it to brew at any desired time. These facts alone, when combined with the fact that drinking more than 12oz of coffee a day is not healthy for you, should make this the perfect brewer for everyone. Fast, easy, proportionate, and brewing varieties make this coffee machine a favorite among efficient individuals and coffee enthusiast alike.
Yes, it is LOUD, but if that is the only drawback to a great coffee machine that can regulate my coffee intake, save me money, entertain, and offer me endless varieties ready to drink in less than 3 minutes with no cleanup, then I say it’s worth buying.
