I like coffee and especially enjoy having a fresh cup of coffee in the morning before I leave for school. When I have a 8 o’clock class, though, since I do not get home from work until 7 o’clock and it takes nearly an hour to get to school, having a cup of coffee is impossible because taking time to make a cup of coffee would make me late for school. That is the main reason I choose to purchase the Keurig Platinum Plus Brewing System.

After ordering the Keurig Platinum Plus Brewing System from Keurig, I only had to wait a couple of days before the FEDEX truck brought my brewer to my door. I was excited to try it out and opened the box to find the brewer, a reusable coffee filter, a variety package of 12 K-cups, a welcome package that includes an owner’s manual, a shopping guide and complete instructions for setting up my brewer. The moment I saw the brewer I could appreciate the design and thought it was going to be a excellent addition to my kitchen.
After unpacking the brewer, I plugged the brewer in, turned on the power switch (which is in an odd place on the lower back of the machine) added water to the reservoir and programmed the brewer with the time, my cup size and water temperature. The buttons on the front of the system include a menu button for programming so it is quite easy to program. The blue backlit LCD display provided the directions on when the system was ready to brew with the words “Ready to Brew”. As is recommended, I ran through one brewing with water, then added a K-cup and brewed my first cup of coffee. It is so fast! It was advertised to brew in under one minute and it definitely does so. I was amazed that it could brew a cup of coffee faster than the microwave could heat a cup of coffee.
The blue backlit LCD display is set up with the clock at the top and a message underneath that reads “Ready to Brew”, “Add Water”, “Not Ready” or “Brewing”. If there is enough water in the reservoir, the message typically goes from “Brewing” directly to “Ready to Brew” so you could easily accommodate more cups of coffee within a few minutes. The 60 oz. water reservoir typically lasts close to 6 or 7 cups before you need to refill the reservoir. When refilling the water reservoir you need to be careful to get it in just the right position. The directions include a special insert to remind you to do this. The buttons on the front of the machine include the Menu button at the top with a Menu control on either side of the larger Menu button. Just below the Menu button, there is the Brew button, the Rinse button and centered just below these two is the Hot Water button. The only button that seems out of place is the button to power the machine on and off. It is located at the lower back of the machine and I thought it should have been somewhere on the front.
When I ordered my Keurig Platinum Plus Brewing System I also went online (thanks to a epinion’s review of the site) to Big Cat Coffee. I ordered some Purr-fect Packs, a variety pack that you create yourself providing you with a combination of 5 packs of 5 coffees, so I could sample a variety of coffees before I decided on one that I would order the larger packs of. Since my coffees had not arrived when I got my brewer, I had to make do with the 12 selections that Keurig supplied me with. The selections were all different save two being the same. They included mostly Bold flavors, which would not have been my first choice, one tea, a couple of flavored coffees and the variety was from many different coffee makers. Thankfully, my order from Big Cat came the next day and I could try some coffees that were more suited to my taste. So far, after sampling many, I think I like Green Mountain’s Our Blend the best.
When I went online to register my Keurig Platinum Plus Brewing System, I discovered that Keurig provides the new owner with a great deal for buying K-cups. If this is one of the first three brewers you have registered at Keurig (why would you need more than three – I’m thinking?), you can purchase two boxes of 22, 24, or 25 count boxes of K-cups and get two boxes of K-cups free. I intend to order these in the near future since this is such a good deal. I am only waiting to make up my mind which coffees I want the most of. Definitely the Green Mountain Our Blend, but I have not decided on another variety.
Now that I have the Keurig Platinum Plus Brewing System I can have that fresh cup of coffee before I leave for a 8 o’clock class. The Keurig Platinum Plus Brewing System has allowed me to experience a variety of flavored coffees that I would probably never had the opportunity to experience. I can enjoy a fresh cup of coffee, without delay, by simply touching a button and I am definitely happy with my purchase. I have been praising the Keurig Platinum Plus Brewing System to family and friends since I bought it and hope to continue to enjoy it for years to come. Even though this system was expensive at 189.99, I am completely delighted with the Keurig Platinum Plus Brewing System.
Thanks for reading and thanks to dlstewart for adding the Keurig Platinum Plus Brewing System to Epinion’s Database.
