When we brought "Jesse" (a Shetland Sheepdog; aka; Sheltie) home as a young puppy, we were given a "puppy bag" to bring home with him.
The "puppy bag" had his favorite toys, literature about his breed, his records and parents' records, and of course the puppy chow he was weaned on.
He was a finicky eater at first, but we didn't worry in the beginning. We contributed his lack of eating on his new home and environment away from his mother and siblings. We thought he would eventually adjust in time.
We were wrong!
We watched him very closely, monitoring the quantity he was consuming and then decided it wasn't an appropriate enough amount for a puppy.
He didn't like the puppy chow he'd been weaned on. Unfortunately the breeder couldn't monitor the eating habits of all her puppies in her kennel to know if there was a finicky eater or not.
We went through the trials and tribulations, trying and failing with three different brands before finding the one and only dog food that Jesse would eat!
It was Kibbles 'n Bits for puppies!
As he grew up, we switched him to Kibbles 'n Bits Original for adults.
We feed him the dry (which is actually moist due to the 18.0% moisture content) original flavor of chicken and beef, and have alternated the other flavors that Kibbles 'n Bits offers.
They all have the same ingredients and are exactly the same dog food, but in different flavors. This is important!

Also contains Carbohydrates for energy, Potassium for a healthy metabolism, Sodium and Chloride for a good balance of body fluids....
Kibbles 'n Bits Original dry food is best for a dog's teeth. The dry dog food cleans teeth, sharpens teeth, and reduces tarter and plaque build up where canned doesn't.
Occasionally we'll add canned dog food mixed in with his dry Kibbles 'n Bits Original for a special treat and mixed variety. This offers the best of both worlds; chunky, juicy meat and the delicious dry. (Our Vet told us it is perfectly healthy if not fed every day...)
Jesse is almost three years old, and is very active. Shelties are a working breed and excellent runners. He enjoys agility play in the backyard, and we are confident he has the healthiest diet available to give him the necessary energy he needs. Our Vet told us he is one of the healthiest dogs he has treated!
I know that when our Jesse gets older and becomes inactive, we'll feed him the Kibbles 'n Bits Lean which is reduced calories for more inactive dogs...and we won't have to change his diet at all!
