| fallyn96's Full Review: Kids Ii Bathtime Foam Toys |
When Monster was younger, I loved to buy him bath toys. He has them all. He has those little toy boats that are supposed to float, he has those toys that squirt, he has toys that scoop, strain, and pour water, and just about everything else that you can imagine. Sometimes I think that there are more toys than water in the tub
My husband is the one who found the Kids II Bathtime Foam Toys. He thought that they looked like fun. So what does any self respecting mother with a bath toy habit do? She buys them, of course!
Fun In The Tub
At the time that we bought them, I thought that all foam toys were created equal. So for once, there was no trial and error with inferior products. There are 26 letters and 10 numbers in the set. They are made of a thick, sturdy foam that sticks to the bathtub when wet. Each letter and number is one of five colors- red, orange, green, yellow and blue. We paid around five dollars for the set at Wal-mart.
Love Notes In The Shower
Perhaps the best thing to come out of this toy are the little love notes that my husband and I have left for each other. Things like I love U and C U 230 and other small messages seem to appear between his shower time and mine. Its also fun to see what were teaching Monster after his bath- many times, youll see his name, or his brothers name on the wall.
They really are an educational toy, much like those magnet letters that you can get for the fridge. Monster keeps surprising me when he hands me a letter, and tells me that he just handed me a red D. Or the other night, when he handed me C and said that his name starts with C, and a D and said that Beans name starts with a D. He also learned his basic colors from these letters.
A Sticky Situation
Because Bean is still in the chews everything in sight stage, and were about to have our third, I worry about choking hazards. Both boys have chewed on these foam letters with no problems. Sure, his two little teeth put dents in the foam, but theyre not permanent dents- they never last longer than a bathtime. The letters are also a perfect size for small hands. Chunky and thick, theyre easy even for ten month old Bean to grab out of the water. Weve had our set for almost two years- and they look as good as new. Because the letters are foam, theyre soft to the touch, and they float. They dont soak up water like a sponge, and it doesnt take long for them to dry.
Final Thoughts
These foam letters have become my favorite bath toy. They have also become some of Monsters favorite bath toys. In fact- he has to have them in the tub at each bath time. Some days, theyre boats, others, he pretends to write on the wall. They are well worth the money. I would suggest buying an extra set- it would make those little notes in the shower that much easier to read.
