| anschris's Full Review: Kids Ii Soft & Safe Inflatable Baby Bath Tub |
As soon as I can find the receipt, I'm returning this tub. What a disaster! Let's see, I'll try to go about this in a logical manner:
1. The box advertises "6 to 24 months!" Yeah, right! My son is 16lb and 26 inches tall. Even sitting up his feet come nearly to the end of the tub. I seriously doubt that any one-year-old, let alone a two-year-old, would be able to fit comfortably into this tub.
2. The name of the tub, "Soft & Safe" is also misleading. Once inflated, there is a sharp rubber seam that runs all the way around the tub. The minute I put my son in and he leaned against that, he started screaming. I had to drape a washcloth over the back of the tub so that the seam wouldn't touch his skin. Once he's older and really into splashing, I'd have to drape towels all around it to protect him from that edge. I ran my finger around it when I was emptying the tub and actually cut myself! No wonder the poor kid yelled about it.
3. What a chore to inflate! I don't have a pump handy and nearly passed out by the time I was done. The valve is set up all wrong - when you take your mouth off you have to be quick getting the plug in or all the air whooshes out and you start over.
4. The drain plug is nearly impossible to close and only slightly easier to open. I had to use both hands to close the drain, pressing on either side of it with my palms and even then it was not closed all the way. There is a small tab to grab onto when opening the drain, but the water was soapy and the rubber tab kept slipping out of my fingers. When I finally did get a good grip on it I really had to jerk hard to get it out of the hole.
5. The drain is flat against the bottom of the tub. This means that when the tub is full of water and you want to empty it, you have to find a way to prop it up on the drain end so that the water can actually get out.
6. The smell! Oh, the smell! Gag me!
I've already told one friend to avoid this product and if anyone else asks me they'll get a negative too. I sure hope the store will take it back now that I've used it. I'd hate to have wasted that money.
