Pros: easy store, small to fit in tub, cushy on bottom & around edges
Cons: hard to inflate, has an edge seam around top, initially smells
The Bottom Line: For those who travel or have a tiny apt, this is a good alternative for babies 7 months & older

| justynmommy's Full Review: Kids Ii Soft & Safe Inflatable Baby Bath Tub |
I had gotten the first years bath tub/bathseat for a shower gift. returned it because I didn't like it. I was washing baby in the bathroom sink but he was getting too big. I researched for an inflatable tub on the internet and found this one. I went to get it for $10 and used it the same nite. As i am petite and live in NYC, I wanted something which wouldn't take up too much room and where I can get into the tub myself to help bathe my son. This was a great alternative. Its like having a mini pool in the tub. My son is much more comfortable in this and the water covers his body better for a cleaner experience. the other tub filled minimally so the water cooled too quickly.
It did have a plastic smell when I opened the box but I cleaned it with some baby liquid, cherry smelling soap and that did the trick. I had to blow it up and that was real difficult. It does have stop spouts for blowing so when you take a breather, you let go of the spout and it prevents the air from escaping. When you are ready to blow again, you squeeze the spout and blow. There are two spouts on my version. one for the bottom of the tub and the other for the tub walls. The bottom is very cushy. There is a drain spout at the bottom of the tub to let water out. It is difficult to pull up and push down but I use it to let the soapy water out and fill with new water while leaving baby in. The drain spout can sit over the tub drain so that you can release the water right into the tub drain. Baby does not sit up on his own too well right now so this might not be too good for young newborns. Hopefully, this disadvantage will be moot when baby is older. Right now it is cumbersome to hold him & wash him at the same time. But he can kick & splash on in the tub and this was better than the cramped first years tub. I also recommend buying a faucet cover. I got the hippo version by tubbly bubbly, real cute. This will protect your baby from bumping into the faucet by accident and also softens the water via the "mouth of the hippo" into the tub.
Another con was there is an 'edgy' seam going along the tub walls which some may find too sharp. I tested this out when I used it the first time and it wasn't too bad. I didn't think it was dangerous for baby. I don't deflate the tub but at least I can have the option to tuck it away for company. The other alternatives weren't feasible for a new york city apt. The price is cheap compared to the other inflatable version.
