| mom2ginamarie's Full Review: Kids Ii Soft & Safe Inflatable Baby Bath Tub |
The Kids II Soft & Safe Inflatable Baby Bath Tub is a wonderful way to bathe your baby in safety. It’s an inflatable tub that is designed to sit and fit inside your regular bathtub. You can blow it up either with a pump or with your own lungs (or your husbands, he he). There are two places you need to blow air into, one is the rings around the side, and the other is the bottom part that the baby will sit on. The bottom part also has a valve that opens to let the water drain out (just like a big tub). It’s brightly colored and has animal prints on it.
The box the Kids II Soft & Safe Inflatable Baby Bath Tub comes in says it’s for ages newborn through age 2. I would not recommend this tub for a newborn. The hard plastic angled baby baths are more appropriate for a bathing a newborn in my opinion. However, if you were extremely careful and put very little water in it you probably could bathe a newborn. Also, I can’t see a toddler in the age range of 18 months to 2 years old fitting very well in this tub. They could still use it but wouldn’t be able to play very freely in it.
This tub is great for traveling, not just at home. It takes up little space when uninflated. It’s a great way to guarantee your baby’s safety and health when your staying in an unfamiliar place. We always bring a plastic bag along just incase we don’t get a chance to totally dry the tub before packing it up.
My Experience
Once my daughter got to be about 6 months old she got too big to comfortable fit in the plastic infant tub. I had seen those safety bath rings (such as the Safety 1st Swivel Bath Seat) all over the place and had considered buying one of those until I spoke with another mom. She was selling hers on a rummage sale because they couldn’t use it in their tub since it had a nonslip bottom. The suction cups that hold the ring down would not stick. Well, our tub is the same way. I’m glad I didn’t waste my money before I knew that.
I knew I wanted something to help with giving my daughter a bath. I was not thrilled with just putting towels in the bottom so that she wouldn’t slip over and bump her precious head. As I was looking at bathtubs in the store I found the Kids II Soft & Safe Inflatable Baby Bath Tub and knew this is what I needed.
My daughter loves her bathtime now. She has a nightly bath as part of her bedtime routine and if she doesn’t get it on time she will let you know. There is plenty of room in the tub for her and several toys. She loves to kick and splash.
Of course, this the Kids II Soft & Safe Inflatable Baby Bath Tub doesn’t give you free reign to leave your baby unattended. I sit beside the tub and watch her the whole time she is in there. Please do not assume your baby cannot slip under the water or crawl out and hurt themselves somehow. An accident can happen in a split second. But this tub will help cut down on some bumps and bruises kids can acquire in the bathtub. There is also a warning on the tub–Do not use it as a flotation device! It’s a funny thought but someone has tried it and failed obviously, don’t be the next stupid parent.
I would recommend this tub to anyone. And the price is right too. I’ve seen it sold in several stores and always for the same price–$9.99. Knowing the price of those expensive plastic infant tubs I think it’s a great deal!
