Pros:cute, great for swaddling
Cons:small for older babies, not practical (almost all white for babies???), pilling after several washes
The Bottom Line: If you're looking to accessorize your Barn Yard line, I recommend skipping this piece.
The BarnYard Fleece Blanket was another of my purchases made to go with the Barn Yard 6 pc bedding set. I got mine online for $10, but I only see them now for almost $13. This was one of the coordinating items that I was unable to find at Babies R Us, as well; it almost seems as if Kids Line might be phasing this piece out.

The fleece blanket measures 36 x 48. It, of course, coordinates with the rest of the set. The majority of the blanket is just plain off-white fleece. It has a thin green plaid border around all edges. On the lower corner is located the familiar coordinating pattern: 3 embroidered animals, a horse, cow and sheep, set against red, green and yellow color blocks. These are about 3 big each, taking up a small amount of space on the blanket in its entirety.
The blanket is fairly thin fleece material, which makes it warm, but not TOO warm. Kid is a sweaty sleeper and has been since birth, so if the blanket was any thicker we couldve never used it. This is a pretty good blanket for swaddling because it is stretchy material, allowing you to a get a tight wrap, and the stickiness of the fleece helps it stay in place. Beyond swaddling, we didnt find this blanket very useful; it was way too small to use as a sleep blanket by the time Kid was 6 months old, and hes never been a Linus (blanket-carrying child). Even if he were, I wouldnt recommend it for that purpose read on.
The blanket is machine washable and can be tumbled dry, which is a plus because when a blanket is primarily open off-white space, it shows everything. Every last drop of drool, snot, food, diaper rash cream or infant Tylenol. Therefore, even though we only used it for a total of 4-5 months, I had to wash it at least a couple times per week! Its still very soft, but after that amount of washing, it also started pilling pretty badly, so its not as nice looking anymore. I definitely wouldnt purchase this for a child who wants a blanket for a lovey; it shows everything and will look quite worn after a few weeks. I doubt it would hold up well after a year of consistent use.
I think this piece was meant as more of a show nursery item, which may be why it is harder to find who needs that?
