The Bottom Line: Bedding is very subjective, but this is really the top of the line if you like a pillow soft bed.

It is prudent to mention that the the same mattress is often called by different names from retailer to retailer. They do this at the request of the retailers so it is hard to comparison shop. That's why you'll swear you saw the same bed a retailer #1, but it's named differently at retailer #2. The only thing worse than buying a car, is buying a new bed. With that said, I have the Kingsdown Tiara, which appears to be similar to the ultimate pillow top. If it's not exact, is very, very close with probably cosmetic only differences.

I bought this bed after much research, and laying on every make, model and style of bed out there. Nothing felt as cushy, soft, yet supportive as Kingsdown. I was like you were floating on air. Your body will never hurt because of the huge pillow top, there are no pressure points anywhere on your body. You absolutely cannot feel any spring on this mattress.

However, I must mention some some things that are important.

1. The mattress and boxspring must be used together as a set, or your warranty is void. My set came with a lifetime warranty. So if you use a platform bed, you can't eliminate the boxspring.

2. The mattress alone in almost 20 inches thick. Finding sheets is an enormous problem, and they are expensive. Very expensive, and hard to find. I'm still yet to find a deep pocket sheet that is really deep enough to comfortably cover the whole mattress. I have to use these elastic bands that attach to the sheets to keep the on the bed. I purchase sets of sheets at Linens & Things. I don't want to order custom made sheets that cost literally as much as some other beds do!

3. You may need a crane to turn over this mattress. You must rotate the mattress for even wear. You need two people to do this. Trust me on this. Your back will be fine sleeping on this mattress, but not turning it.

4. The pillowtop is so thick and soft, it is warm because of the cradling effect is has on your body. Your body sinks a couple of inches into the pillowtop, and surrounds you a little bit. It may take some getting used to. Sound's gross, but I would sweat a lot when I first got it. Now I'm used to it.

5. A pillowtop will mold to ones body over a period of months, so there could be a little sagging in the middle or at the ends. This does not effect anything, it's almost like breaking in a pair of shoes.

6. The bed sits higher than you may be used to. Also make sure this is ok if you have an existing bedframe.

All in all, I wouldn't give this up. I wish the sheets were easier to find and cheaper, but after you buy a couple of sets, your OK. There is just no way you'll ever find a more comfortable mattress. Don't confuse soft and pillowy with lack of support. This bed is soft, but has excellent support. Kingsdown knows what they're doing.
