I am not a Wipes Connoisseur. My preferred brand of wipes is Pampers Aloe Wipes. I dont recall how the wipes performed, except that they seemed a bit too moist toward the bottom of the bunch for my liking. I mainly bought the Pampers brand for the pop-up dispenser box. Over the years, I purchased many boxes of Pampers Aloe Wipes just so I could store my refills in the Pampers container. Like most parents, wipes are stored in several locations in the house: in the bathroom, in the car, in the diaper bag, and in my sons room. The Pampers containers are still being used, and my son is 3½-years old. Its one sturdy box.
Many parents search for the perfect wipe, but Im not one of those, so Whats in a wipe? Some wipes are large; some have patterns, some are scented, and some are extra thick. Personally, I dont care if wipes have embossed duckies. All I care about is if they are soft, work without being too moist, and dont tear. I also prefer unscented products, not because of allergies, but because I dont understand the reason for scented wipes. Let me put it this way, wipes are for cleaning up poop, which stinks. I dont care if the wipe smells good after I throw it away. A scented wipe might leave my sons bum smelling fresh, but hes just going to poop again. Thus, whats the point of having a scented hinny?
Large wipes do seem to cut down on the amount of wipes needed to do the job, and I instantly notice the difference when I happen to use one of the big wipes. I just dont choose to purchase them. Extra thick wipes are also nice on babys bottom, but Im not sure they reduce the amount of wipes one uses. Theyre nifty for newborn bottoms, and for those with ultra sensitive skin. Fortunately, my child doesnt fit into either category. The Kirkland Signature Premium Baby Wipes have none of those attributes. Okay, so what does the Kirkland Signature brand have to offer? you ask.
Description:
The Kirkland Signature Premium Baby Wipes is packaged in a 9 x 9 x 10 box. It contains 6-packages of refill packs, and 2-plastic containers with flip-type lids. Each refill package has its own hard plastic lid that snaps to close. The refills contain 96 wipes each, which equals 576 wipes all together. The wipes rotate from left to right, like a tissue box, so only one wipe pops-up at a time. They measure 8 x 7 and they are white in color. They are unscented, alcohol-free, and enriched with vitamin-E. Kirkland claims their wipes are hypoallergenic as well.
My Feelings:
Kirkland states their wipes are Extra Thick, and Ultra Soft. They are not as thick as some of the brand name wipes, but they arent paper-thin either. They are soft, and cloth-like, which is key to me. They are moist without being saturated, and most importantly, they are durable. The only time Ive torn a Kirkland Signature Premium Baby Wipes is when it lodged in the corner of Kirkland plastic lid. As previously mentioned, I use the Pampers Aloe Wipes box. I remove the plastic lids that come on the refill packs, and pop the refill packs in the Pampers container; therefore, torn wipes hardly ever happen.
The Kirkland Signature Premium Baby Wipes are indeed unscented, and I do not detect any odor. In addition, I have never noticed any irritation, or dryness with these wipes. Ive been using the Kirkland brand for 3½ years, and my only grumble about the product is that its not flushable. William does not have any allergies, so I cannot attest to, or refute the hypoallergenic claims; although Ive read Lanolin can cause problems. The Kirkland Signature Premium Baby Wipes cost $12.99 for 6 refill packages of wipes. That works out to .02 cents a wipe. In my opinion, thats a bargain, especially for the quality!
