| forkids's Full Review: Kiss My Face Natural Shower Gel & Foaming Bath |
Kiss My Face Early to Bed Moisture Bath has been a huge help with my usual dry skin wrestling matches during the winter. I use this product primarily to shave my legs, plain and simple. There are a few different ways you can use this product:
• In the tub for some added moisture and aromatherapy.
• In the tub as a substitute for soap.
• In the shower as a shower gel/body soap
I choose to use it in the shower because I generally shower more often than I do a long soak in the tub. When I head for the tub I bring along some different goodies.
Kiss My Face products make up a generous percentage of my skin care products. I like and trust the company and most of its offerings. Started back in the early 1980’s by two vegetarians living on a organic farm in New York State, they are a health conscious company that doesn’t use animal ingredients, artificial colors or unnecessary chemicals and doesn’t test on animals. Their packaging is simple their sizes are ample and what’s inside generally works and continues to work throughout the day.
Here’s what you’ll find if you purchase the 16 oz. opaque green bottle of Shower Gel and Foaming Bath meant to relax your senses. Remember it’s called Early to Bed for a reason. The company harps on the following ingredients and their product benefits:
• Clove & Ylang Ylang – sedative, antiseptic
• Lavender – calmative, restorative, antiseptic
• Chamomile – calmative, sedative, bactericide
• Neroli – aromatic, antiseptic
• Jasmine – aromatic
While I can vouch for the eclectic mix of fragrances, I can’t necessarily say I walk out of the shower feeling like a piece of limp spaghetti. I love a hot shower, hot showers tend to relax me. But a shower also wakes me up, so therefore the “Early to Bed” description doesn’t necessarily apply to me as I use this more in the morning than the evening.
I definitely endorse this product because of its aromatherapy properties and moisturizing benefits. Of course the cleansing properties matter, too.
Fragrance
More spicy than floral, which makes it very gender-neutral. The clover and ylang ylang tend to dominate and soften the others (lavender, chamomile, neroli, and jasmine). If you dislike a spicy fragrance this might not appeal to you.
Texture and Appearance
While you might think the product is green due to the bottle composition, it is actually clear and fluid. Not like a hair gel but fluid like a clear, hand soap. When you rub it in initially it turns white and when it comes in contact with a stream of water it lathers nicely but not a huge mass of foam or bubbles. It rinses clean without any oily residue but doesn’t leave my skin with dry patches when I’m ready to get dressed like a bar of my Tone soap might.
I like the texture for shaving my legs so much better than bar soap and the fragrance doesn’t stick around for long. Enjoy the fragrance mixed with the hot steam but don’t expect to run into the fragrance hours later when you return to the room. Your skin might have a hint of fragrance when you towel off but it dissipates quickly.
If you like aromatherapy then I think this product fits the bill beautifully. I like shower gels and I like their texture, Kiss My Face scores bonus points for high quality.
Ingredients for those with any skin sensitivities or allergies:
water, sodium lauryl sulfate (from palm and coconut oil), cocamide mea (coconut oil derived cleanser), olive oil, aloe vera, vitamins A & D2, tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E), natural aromatic blend of clove, ylang ylang, lavender, chamomile, neroli, jasmine, methylparaben, propylparaben
The other bath products in this line include:
Early to Rise, Anti-Stress, Active Athletic, Romance, and Cold & Flu Bath (which really works wonders).
