Pros: Bread is supported on both sides for toasting. Bagels come out perfectly. Very well made.
Cons: No negatives discovered. This is a very good toaster at a moderate price.
We're a "toast-most-of-the-time-bagels-now-and-then" household. We we using a toaster oven to make toast and it took FOREVER. So, we started looking at toasters and most felt like junk. The levers wobbled and they looked cheap. Then we ran across the Kitchen Aid Model KTT340WHO. It had a very sturdy feel and it looked really good. We chose white for our kitchen. Black would have shown too many fingermarks.
The first thing we tried were bagels. This toaster has a "bagel button." You push it so that only the cut side of the bagels are toasted. The other side stays soft. Very nice. The toaster has a "warm-up" button for reheating something you've already toasted. We haven't used that yet but it should come in handy.
We now use this toaster every morning for toast and we have the dial set to make it exactly the way we want it. The toast comes up consistently the way we want it...in seconds. I'm sure we're saving electricity by not waiting around on that toaster oven to heat up.
This toaster has a crumb tray but I still take the toaster to the sink and turn it upside down. You can coil up the extra cord underneath the unit. All in all it is a nice addition to our kitchen.
