I purchased (2) full kitchenaid kitchens, one was the professional series. The double oven KEBS208SSS02 enamel began to pit and chip within the year. Service came out and KitchenAid graciously replaced the unit. Now, one month after the warranty expiration of the second oven the top unit has begun to pit and chip. The customer service agent pretty much explained to me that food will cause the enamel to erode. Ok, so why do they use this particular enamel for a $2000 item? They pretty much told me I was not using the oven correctly. They told me I should wipe up the big spills before running the cleaning cycle. I had foil on the rack to prevent any excess spilling and a piece of the foil fell onto the bottom of the oven and now it's permanently attached itself to the oven. I did not run the cleaning cycle because I was afraid it would cause further damage. So I've spoken to several KitchenAid agents and they have all told me I'm a month late for the extended warranty and good luck. Is this the way a customer that has saved diligently to build a new home only to be told that there is nothing that can be done?
