Please consider yourself forewarned... This oven is an utter nightmare. Every time it is put on a normal self clean function various elements blow. Each time something slightly different so it cannot be returned or replaced via the Lemon Law. This oven has broken SIX times... each time after I programmed a LIGHT self clean cycle. Many friends that purchased this oven have since replaced it with Electrolux or Miele... PLEASE do not consider this oven unless of course your husband is a repair technician for the Whirlpool Company... Google: "Kitchen Aid, Double Oven, Built In, Self Clean" and read numerous complaints from a cross section of American Society that have difficulties with this oven. The manual suggests self cleaning at night and keeping the windows open. I find this concept frightening... Every time I put the oven on a simple self clean cycle different components melt away--I worry that one day my oven will explode or start a house fire while my children and spouse are sleeping. This petrifies me. I have contacted the Whirlpool Co. numerous times and have gotten nowhere. They even had the audacity to tell me that I self clean the oven too often... Is once every twelve months too often?! I am curious how often they think we should wash our linens or change our undergarments? The thought of self cleaning less than once a year is completely sickening. This oven has caused me nothing but grief and heartache. If I were you I would suggest another oven... any oven... just NOTHING from Whirlpool Kitchen Aid.
