electronic component to repair was expensive

I was given a white kitchen aid blender as a gift in 2002. IT BLENDED great! In 2006, when it died, I took it to a repair shop and the electronic part was bad and cost over $80 or $100 w labor as I recall! I left it with the repair guy and bought a new one. Things shouldn;t fall apart and end in landfills! I was surprised at the short life I got out of it based on my experience with my now 17 year old Kitchen Aid stand mixer which I highly recommend! I should have bought the larger bowl size though. A double batch of Spritz butter cookies is a bit much. I LOVE my kitchen Aid mixer quality though!
