ggrw's Full Review: KitchenAid PRO LINE® KPCG100NP Electric Burr ...
I have owned this grinder for 5 years and am very pleased. It consistently grinds coffee for espresso that matches the grind quality of Italian grinders costing 4 or 5 times as much. The slow turning burrs do not heat the coffee and makes the grinder very quiet (for a burr coffee grinder). It does have a few quirks that can easily be overcome by anyone with a little mechanical skill. The top that doesn't fit tightly can be fixed by putting a rubber band in the groove underneath the silicone seal. The adjustment can be made infinitely variable with an easy mod...look it up on the internet. The position of the burrs allow almost all of the ground coffee to exit the burr area without clogging. The glass containers do not impart static like the plastic of the cheap grinders; I haven't broken either container in 5 years and since it is a KitchenAid, I expect replacement parts will be available for a long time. I roast my own coffee and strive for the best at a reasonable price. This grinder has ground approximately three pounds of coffee each week for 5 years. It may not be the fastest grinder in the world, but for the money, it can't be beat.
