Magick1's Full Review: Kleenex 2 Ply Tissues White 200 Each
Kleenex is a brand that has been around for years, since 1924. If you have a box of tissue that is not the Kleenex brand, everyone still asks for Kleenex. I cannot recall anyone ever asking me for a tissue or anything else for that matter. Thats what you can call brand recognition! What a position to be in nowadays. No matter who makes tissues, people still call them Kleenex.
I usually buy this brand because the warehouse stores I go to carry this brand. They have the rectangle boxes or the smaller, taller square boxes available. Per www.kleenex.com/NA/FAQ section, Kleenex is made from 100% virgin fiber because it provides special, superior softness in the tissues! The box is recyclable, but the tissues are not really recyclable. The tissues are made with biodegradable cellulose fibers and there is an additive used that makes it strong. Therefore, the tissues do not break down as quickly as the toilet tissue does and they do recommend that the Kleenex tissue be thrown away in the trash rather than flushed.
The Product
In the box that I have the larger rectangle box with 200 tissues and the tissues automatically pop up after you pull out the first tissue. The box is a crazy looking wild paisley print. (I dont enjoy the box print or the color choices, but that is what you get). The tissue is roughly 8 inches wide and about 8 ¼ inches long. It provides decent coverage for your hand if you pull a tissue up to cover a sneeze!
The tissues are thicker than others that I have tried and they are softer than others. They say that the tissues are 2-ply, which to me implies that basically they have taken 2 tissues and fused them together. But, if you have a terrible cold or sinus issues (allergies, etc.), these tissues might not be the best option. After using them frequently, your nose will get sore from just the general cold, the rubbing, blowing, etc. So, if you really have a runny nose, you might look for others with a mild lotion or something in them to keep your nose from getting dried out, irritated and cracked.
Kleenex is an awesome brand; dont get me wrong here at all. I like their product and the fact that they make their boxes recyclable. Another thing I really enjoy is that they participate in the Box Tops for Education program so you can save those for schools in your area or for grandchildren or neighbors. Every top that gets turned in helps the schools get things they need like supplies for the kids to use, books and many other things. The more that are turned in, the more items the schools get!
Overall Impressions
If you want a quality tissue, these are good. The cost is reasonable, as you can find them in stores for around $1.50 - $2.00 a box (of the 200 count). In a case at a warehouse store, you can get an even better deal! I wish they would give a better look to their boxes, though. I know that Kleenex brand does offer a lotion based tissue in case of a terribly runny nose. Those help, but this is the basic tissue that I am reviewing here.
I find the tissue is has a decent strength and handles most issues quite well. But, with any tissue, thicker or thinner, its always best to wash your hands after using the tissue to help from spreading germs to others. If you havent used these tissues, they are a decent one to use, if you have, you likely have your own opinions about them. Share them here!
