Pros: Great sound, good volume, functional controls, speaker mounted headphone jack.
Cons: Electronics are so poor that your speakers will be near worthless in a short time.
The Bottom Line: Great speakers. Rotten electronics. Buy these used if you live in the US where you can get affordable parts and you have the skill to maintain them yourself.

| scarletfever's Full Review: Klipsch ProMedia 5.1 5 Speakers |
I owned these speakers for a couple of years and was exceptionally happy with them for about 18 months. Sound quality was very good (exceptional when compared to most other computer speakers), and volume capacity was excellent for their designed application. No one with functioning ears would want to have these things putting out more than about 60% to 70% of their max volume in the office / gaming room that they are designed to work in.
Unfortunately about 18 months into ownership I started getting a noticeable hiss on one channel of the speakers. A few Internet searches confirmed that a lot of users have had problems with audible hiss and other similar problems. It was then only a matter of time. Over the following few months major audio oddities started showing up on all channels. The speakers never completely failed, but eventually I had to unplug them all to stop the noise that began leaking through even when the computer wasn't powered on. All of the reading and testing that I did on the speakers when they failed would lead me to believe that the failure as the pre-amp located in one of the front channel speaker pods.
Even more unfortunately if you are a Canadian, Klipsch has a distributorship deal with a company in Ontario that charges massively inflated prices for replacement parts, no customer service, and no willingness to assist in diagnosing or solving problems. I bought these speakers on sale for only about $200.00 Canadian which at the time was only about $130.00 US. The Canadian distibutor less than 2 years later wanted almost $100.00 US to sell and ship a replacement pre-amp to me with no guarantee that I could even return the part if it didn't fix the problem.
If you can find a working set of these speakers used, they are probably a great buy. If you are in the US where you can get parts directly from Klipsch or an affiliated American distributor and you are technically adept (and have the time) to keep these puppies working you can probably get a used set CHEAP and parts in the US were a good price when I was looking. If you live in Canada avoid Klipsch like the plague.
