| rlingmann's Full Review: Klipsch ProMedia 5.1 5 Speakers |
As far as watching movies or listening to music on your computer, these speakers are going to give you the best experience, bar none. For the money, these speakers produce amazingly strong, deep bass that's not boomy or muddy. The highs are clean and mids are amazingly natural. Even though they where designed to be listened to at very close distances (i.e. while sitting at you computer), their sound dynamics are strong enough to fill a small room with a very convincing home theater sound. There's definitely a reason why these speakers are THX certified.
At the same, I've never had to return a product so many times. These speakers were purchased brand new ($399) about 18 months ago. I enjoyed 15 months of superior multimedia home theater sound, while the other 3 months were spent waiting for them to be repaired or replaced. Apparently there was a bad transistor in the amp that would cause all the sound from the satellites to quit, leaving only the sub playing. Klipsch claimed to have repaired the problem a year ago, but I have yet to have these speakers work for more than 4 months in a row.
If I didnt believe these speakers to be the best sounding multimedia speakers on the market right now, theres now way I would have gone through FOUR returns. If you want to watch movies on your computer and get the same experience as a top notch home theater, these are the only way to go. But if you value reliability over excellence, try something else.
