The Bottom Line: I would recommend the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers if you are willing to spend the extra money for them. They blow away iHomes and other iPod/PC speakers.
saitos1's Full Review: Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 2 Speakers
I've had the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers for over 2 years now. The speaker set is actually quite old and has been on the market for a while. At first I was turned off by their high price tag, but after buying an Altec-Lansing 2.1 set that made a banging sound in the subwoofer like it was being overloaded, I decided on the Klipsch set. I use ProMedia 2.1 speakers mostly as computer speakers, but sometimes I use them to play music for parties. The horn driven speakers provide a clear sound and the subwoofer delivers some heart-thumping bass. Sometimes I’m afraid I will blow out my subwoofer because it’s delivering such deep bass. There is a knob on the main control speaker where you can turn down the bass and I find myself doing that when I’m playing music really loud. This speaker system can turn your laptop or iPod into a higher end system with a sound that many 2.1 sets and iHomes can’t deliver. I leave my speakers on almost all the time because the power switch is inconveniently located behind the subwoofer. I only turn the set off when I know I’ll be gone for more than a couple days. I’ve had no problems with speakers except sometimes I get worried because the subwoofer gets hot at high volumes. When I am playing loud music like at parties I place a fan next to the subwoofer to cool it down. The other problem I had purchasing these was dropping down over $150 for them. It seems as though I got a deal then because the prices are a lot higher now.
