yodosays's Full Review: Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 2 Speakers
I have owned two of these sets of Klipsch Promedia 2.1 speakers over the last 6 years. I use my speakers for several hours every day. I am extremely pleased with the quality of the sound. You can turn these up high enough to power any party, or if you'd just like to hear your music from, say, outside of your house.
Plainly, the sound quality is nearly flawless. However, both of my sets have experienced the same, tragic, problem. Unfortunately, the audio setup is rather confusing. The wire runs from the computer, to the left speaker, back down to the subwoofer, and then out again to each speaker. The inevitable result, at least in my experience, is that one of these connections is bound to go wrong. This usually happens at the point where the cable enters the subwoofer. You'll know this has happened when one of the speakers starts to produce static, and fades in and out -- going from not working at all, to producing extremely high static at many ranges, to, rarely, working well. From what I have seen online, this problem is not unique to my own experience.
In the end, these Klipsch 2.1 ProMedia speakers produce fantastic sound quality. However, the reliability and durability leaves something to be desired. Because of this, I will be replacing my 2nd set of Klipsch's with another brand of speakers.
