Here's another easy one, Klipsch has been around for a long time (30+ years I believe) and they know what they are doing. The saying you get what you pay for goes well with buying Klipsch, I've sold audio equipment, and anyone who was serious about their home theatre was shown Klipsch first, many people will cringe at most of the prices for their products, but when put up against most competition there is no comparison. Sound quality is never a question with Klipsch, and the sc-1 is no different, but what is really great about the Klipsch is even in their center they have a three speaker system, this particular speaker has two 5.25" woofers, and their 5" square "Tactrix" horn, the horn is what makes Klipsch, while the woofers cover the lows, the horn covers the highs and mids, and you combine these factors and get some of the most realistic sound you will find, especially at this price-point.
Another thing about Klipsch, and the SC1, it takes A LOT to distort these speakers, most receivers that will be hooked up to this size center, at this price, will be mid line receivers, (around 200-400 $) and most of these receivers will cut out before you can distort this speaker, thats how good the sound is. The company prides itself on having a "live" sound that you would usually only find with profesional speakers, and I completely agree, this is the best sound for you money. They also offer a 5 year warranty, which is standard for speakers in this price range, but Klipsch offered this warranty years befor Infinity or Polk did. If you have an ear for quality sound go with Klipsch and you will not be dissapointed.
