bugpuncher's Full Review: Kodak EASYSHARE 5100 All-In-One Printer
To be fair, the printer worked fine for the first 6 months. Then the trouble started. First I noticed that the level of color ink as shown on the printer's dialog box went down constantly, though we rarely printed anything in color. I ignored that for a while since I don't really need the color- but then the printer decided it was out of color ink, and refused to print anything at all henceforth. I figured maybe there was something wrong with the ink cartridge so we replaced it along with the black. Same thing happened all over again, so I called Kodak, who took me through a very long troubleshooting process. Finally they said we needed a new printhead, and sent us one along with new ink cartridges, so we went on for another cycle with the new printhead and ink, and it happened again. Called Kodak again. They sent us a new printer, which took about 3 weeks. You guessed it- the whole thing happened yet again, so Kodak replaced the printer again- though this time the replacement printer came with no printhead. We put the printhead in from our previous printer, and now the stupid thing is complaining it has no black ink, though the cartridge is brand new. We hung in there, but we're giving up on this piece of junk.
