Jim,

I don't understand why you are so angry at me, I am 100% sincere. I do not have any agenda. I may not be as tactful, subtle, charming, etc. as others but I am a very straight forward person.

I don't want to stir any pot, I simply want to know why I don't see lead dkozin giving any somewhat helpful, not helpful or off topic ratings.

The more you and he dodge the question and instead insinuate that I have some type of nefarious agenda, or that there is something wrong with me for not having written a review, etc, makes me wonder why I am getting such a strong reaction to such a simple question.

Jim, I bet if I checked your ratings page I would find the entire range of ratings. You appear to be a loyal guy and a good team member, I hope dkozin appreciates you!

First of all, I'm not speaking for dkozin! I thought I made that clear.

Second, I was right. You do have an attitude - an agenda of your own based on some kind of misconception that you believe that you are, somehow, not a part of a "closed group."

It seems to be that you wish to "stir the pot" or create controversy.

I don't pretend to speak for anyone other than myself and I rate based on what I feel or believe to be the proper rating for all individuals.

When we see someone that writes well, we can put them on our "trust" list and elect to receive e-mail alerts when these individuals write a new review. Because they know their field and write well, these folks on my trust and alert list would almost always do a good job and, therefore, earn a VH rating. There's no mystery to it.

You can do or write whatever you wish.

If you have a sincere interest in writing reviews and have real questions, I would be happy to help. But, if you continue this line of wanting someone to rise to the bait you push, I won't be responding. I'm not masochistic nor stupid.

Jim, since you are the one speaking for dkozin, why doesn't he rate any reviews Somewhat Helpful or not helpful or off topic? Why does he only rate Very helpful, helpful or Most Helpful?

This review is written for consumers, not just for members who have already written a review. I would put forward that my commentary is more honest because I don't have a review that needs a return rate! I don't have any reviews so I'm not eligible to be chosen as an advisor.

Not having any reviews leaves me without an agenda.

Why isn't dkozin answering my questions?

Jim, you are insinuating there is something amiss with my rate and comment because I have never written a review, yet I could say the same of you as dkozin rates your reviews as Very Helpful and he is your boss.

Obviously, I have asked some touchy questions, so would dkozin or someone who isn't prejudiced against members who haven't written a review please explain why a boss of the electronics section doesn't read and rate the lesser reviews (those rated somewhat helpful or not helpful or off topic.)

Sincerely,

sageandsavory

Not at all but until you have written something of consequence for public review, it just seems a bit odd to me for someone to criticize another reviewer. I think it would be fair to see what you can do before taking someone else to task.

Perhaps you can do better?

Besides, this person has written many reviews and needs no defense. His work stands on its own.

And, when you say your are "a defenseless member" I think it displays an attitude as if you were an outsider looking "in." You, too, can be a contributor. You have the opportunity so it's up to you. Once you've established yourself with creditable work, you would have a much better position to make your points or views. When you remain "hidden" we have to wonder about your own writing abilities.

I avoid critizing others if I can't do as well. But, that's just me. You can do what you want.

And, the language you use is a bit cynical or accusatory. It is more than offering constructive suggestions.

Perhaps you don't mean it that way but that's the way I perceive it. I hope I'm wrong.

tennisplayer, Why are you defending lead dkozin from the sincere questions of a powerless member? Have I inadvertently asked some taboo questions?

The rules don't say I have to write a review to ask questions or comment. Are there some unwritten rules that say I must first accomplish a list of things before I can ask questions?

Sincerely,

Hmmmm . . . . . . .

This is an extremely critical and cynical comment coming from someone that has not written even one single review for public scrutiny, me thinks.

I think your review would have been more complete if you had used the camera a little more. Why not spend more time with the camera and give us a fuller review based on more real time experience?

If you are going to buy all these cameras, why not use them more, it is hard to believe that you can learn everything about a camera, thoroughly use a camera and write a thorough review in one day!

You went to the trouble to set up a site to show your pictures, then you only show pictures of the camera which we could easily see anywhere and one picture of the same parking lot. I would really like to see the pictures that you based your opinions on; I don't get why you even have a "sample picture site". Did you make all determinations from the picture of the parking lot? This was actually a camera that appealed to me and I have been looking for one for about a year now.

I checked out your Epinions personal page and it shows your ratings, how come you only rate helpful and Very Helpful and Most Helpful? Don't leads have to rate the somewhat and not helpful reviews?

There is something not quite right about you and there was something not quite right about your "sample picture" site, but now you have changed it so I can't ask a computer smart person what it was that so bothered me.

Why don't you have your e-bay link posted on your personal page, I would think that you would want to allow your readers a chance to purchase one of these "gently used" cameras, plus you could ensure you sold all of these cameras worth thousands of dollars that you are buying weekly?

I read a lot of reviews, rate very few, and rarely comment, but everytime I read you I have more questions.

My questions are quite sincere, and I would hope that as an Epinions lead that you would take the time to respond to my concerns. I may be a nobody on Epinions, but I am a member and a consumer.

Sincerely,

sageandsavory
