User Rating: Excellent
Ease of Use:
Pros:Price, versatility, ease of use
Cons:Lack of back support, holds babies by crotch
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this carrier to anyone with an infant, especially those that can't be put down, who doesn't want to shell out more money for an ERGO or Beco.
After having my son in July of 2007, I experienced horrible back pain, leaving both of the slings we bought (an Infantino one and a PeanutShell) too painful to use. My husband and I bought the Jeep 2-in-1 Freedom Baby Carrie from Wal-Mart, hoping that it would allow me to wear our son without excruciating back pain. The directions were straight-forward and it was pretty easy to use and adjust, however, my son hated it.

He was three months old when we bought it, and it sat in our closet until he was five months old and I decided to give it a try. Hes a high-needs baby and needs constant carrying, so I wanted to give the Jeep 2-in-1 Freedom Baby Carrier one more chance before I bought another type of carrier. It was a success! He loved it, especially facing out. We love the versatility of the carrierwhen the baby is tired (and when he was smaller), we had him facing in, and the back of the carrier supported his head very well, and hes falls asleep in it (even now, at seven months!) very easily. When hes awake, we put him facing outward, and he loves to kick his legs and be able to look at his surroundings.
One of our favorite features is how easy it is to adjust. My husband is 6ַ and 250 lbs., and can easily wear the carrier in either position without any trouble. Im 5ֺ and am also able to very simply tighten the straps to make it comfortable for my height and body type. The carrier is also easy to put on and put baby in by yourself. After getting used to putting it on with assistance, it was not difficult to learn to do it on my own at all. My son is now 23 inches long and 23 lbs. and still fits in it well and enjoys being in it. Even at his size, none of the parts dig into his limbs, and he can even wear a coat in it comfortably.
The only downside to the Jeep 2-in-1 Freedom Baby Carrier is that it did not provide enough support for my back, and did not relieve much of my discomfort. I can comfortably wear my son in it now for about 15 minutes, but my husband can wear him for at least an hour with no problems or complaints. Overall, I think that this carrier is a great option for anyone on a budgetit works well for small and large babies of different developmental stages and adults of varying body types.
